Sign up now to adopt a new street tree in a vacant pit near you

Look out for the signs in the picture above springing up on pavements during the month of April! If you spot one near your home or close to where you work, why not become involved as a 'Tree Guardian'?

Check out our map now to find the selected locations where we are targeting our tree planting, but don't hang around as our target is to find guardians for a 100 publicly funded trees which will be planted on a first come, first served basis! Trees with matching guardians will be planted by the end of 2023, and we can only do this with your support!

Anyone who lives or works in Lewisham can get involved as long as they live or work within 50 metres of one of the vacant tree pits. Find a tree pit near you and register here and let your neighbours know that they can sign up too.
Locations are chosen using the Grow Back Greener funding criteria which prioritise areas of:

  1. Low air quality

  2. High flood risk

  3. Low number of trees

If you live in the target areas and are not able to find a pit near you, then please let us know. We would like to continue this project next year and apply for more funding.

Our project aims to plant the trees where new trees are needed most and will have maximum benefit for the residents of Lewisham.
